Looking Back: The gam® 2010 Open House |

 On December 8, 2010 GAM held its 7th annual open house in the Nokes Boulevard location. The event was well attended and monetary donations along with food and coats were collected to benefit the four chosen charities.
GAM showcased its newest addition to its printing palate: UV Coating. The market for UV coating technology has been growing at double-digit rates; the reason for this growth is its unique process characteristics, which allow UV coatings to be applied to almost any surface. UV coating gives more sheen and protection than either varnish or aqueous coating and since it is cured with light instead of heat, no solvents enter the atmosphere. Gloss and matte, specialty glitter and profile (high rise) UV coatings transform the printed page and create bold contrasts and striking effects. In addition to the aesthetic enhancement, UV coatings can be used to create Scratch-and-Sniff and Scratch-Off areas on printed material. During the open house, Kenny Fox, press foreman, showed the application of a Scratch-and-Sniff coating on the 2011 GAM calendar. Apple, baby powder, basil, chocolate, lavender, lemon, orange, peach, peppermint, pine, rose, vanilla and wine are a few of the scents available.
